Firewood

We met
Silence
How it sparkles
Without a word

We touched
Shoulders
Our hearts mustered
the blissful warmth

Our eyes
Met
Idiosyncrasy
A slight smile

We sat
Windy
Between the banks
Wind as cradle

If time could freeze
Then I would never believe
Because this feeling in my heart
I feel like it can only increase

The windows to our soul
Turned opaque as we pursed
Our lips and shut our hearts
But this feeling
No
It will never leave because
It was pure
It was a connection
Beyond this world
A sensation not of the senses
A vibrance that shook the leaves
Scattered the ashes
Shook the trees that held up our hearts

Tonight we sleep
our hearts immersed
in a stove of warmth

Beside her
A crackling fire
Wood by wood
The fire is fed
Flame by flame
The warmth comforts

Because the only thing that ever matters to me
is that she is safe and warm
Blissful and loved

It is lovely isn't it

But whatever comes will ever leave
Nothing stays and then you grieve
Can't live with a window shut
Just gotta put it through a sieve

It dawned on me
A simple lesson as she
the nature of all things are like shadows
coming without a trace
gone without a trace

But the image in our minds grasp
Grasping forever,
we wring it into our chests
As if it was some kind of inane test

We gotta stop lest
today will be the same as yest'

The fire crackles
my eyes fall
maybe time will
maybe it will
yes it will
...
handle the rest
